Idiap Research Institute offers PhD positions in representation learning for LLMs. Candidates with a background in ML/NLP are encouraged to apply by 1 April.

Idiap Research Institute is seeking qualified candidates for two PhD student positions in representation learning for Large Language Models (LLMs) as part of the ERC Advanced grant BALM. The positions are available in the Natural Language Understanding group led by Dr. James Henderson. For more information about the group, visit Natural Language Understanding.

The researchers will investigate representation learning for language using an information-theoretic extension of transformer embeddings. The ideal candidates should have a Master’s degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, or related fields, with a background in machine learning or natural language processing.
