ComputEL-9 invites submissions for papers on computational methods in studying endangered languages. Deadline extended to April 1, 2026.
The Ninth Workshop on the Use of Computational Methods in the Study of Endangered Languages (ComputEL-9) invites submissions for papers. The workshop is co-located with ACL 2026 in San Diego, California, on July 4, 2026.
Submissions should explore the interface and intersection of computational linguistics, documentary linguistics, and community-based efforts in language revitalization and reclamation.
- Submissions can be short (up to 4 pages) or long (up to 8 pages).
- Papers must include sections on ethical considerations and limitations.
- Submissions must be anonymous and follow ACL Style Files.
- Submit papers via SoftConf by April 1, 2026.
