10th Annual Law & Corpus Linguistics Conference

The 10th annual Law & Corpus Linguistics Conference at BYU Law School invites proposals on various legal topics using corpus linguistics. Deadline: May 15, 2025.

The 10th annual Law & Corpus Linguistics Conference is scheduled for Friday, October 24, 2025, at Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School in Provo, Utah. The keynote address will be given by Abbe Gluck, a distinguished professor from Yale Law School.

Proposals for individual papers and panels are now being accepted. Topics of interest include:

  • Applications of corpus linguistics to various legal fields
  • Philosophical and normative commentary on corpus linguistics in law
  • Triangulation with other empirical methods in legal interpretation
  • Corpus-based analysis of legal discourse
  • Best practices in corpus design and methods in legal settings

The proposal deadline is May 15, 2025. Submissions should include an abstract of no more than 750 words and complete contact information for presenters. Proposals can be sent to byulawcorpus@law.byu.edu.
