The AAAI2026 Workshop on Machine Ethics is accepting submissions for a one-day event focused on ‘Machine Ethics: from formal methods to emergent machine ethics’.
The workshop will feature a single track with multiple thematic blocks, including dedicated sessions for formal methods and emergent machine ethics, culminating in joint panel discussions.
- Logics for morality and ethics
- Knowledge representation of ethical theories
- Emergent Machine Ethics (EME) – foundational theories and frameworks
- Ethical reinforcement learning agents
- Autonomous norm formation in AI systems
Submissions are accepted in three formats: Full papers, Fast review track, and Short papers (4-page extended abstract).

- Deadline for fast track submissions: November 10, 2025 AOE
- Deadline for submissions: November 5, 2025 AOE
- Notification of acceptance: November 15, 2025 AOE
