The positions are part of the Information, Data and Analysis (IDA) Section and the Information, Dynamics and Interaction (IDI) research group of the School of Computing Science. Key areas of focus include:
- Machine learning/AI in Human-Computer Interaction
- Machine Learning in Science and Engineering
- Probabilistic Models and Bayesian inference
- Active Inference
- Causal Machine Learning/Inference
- AI/ML in Dynamic Systems/Control systems
The ideal candidate will have experience in modern AI development environments (e.g JAX, numpy, pytorch, tensorflow) and be able to lead and develop research in topics such as Deep Models, Active and Reinforcement Learning.
The postholder will contribute to teaching, assessment, supervision, and curriculum design at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as participate in School management and organisation.
