AIces 2026: 1st International School on AI’s Cognitive, Ethical & Societal Dimensions

AIces 2026 is an international school on AI’s cognitive, ethical, and societal dimensions, featuring courses, keynote lectures, and debates. Early registration starts October 4, 2025.

The 1st International School on the Cognitive, Ethical and Societal Dimensions of Artificial Intelligence (AIces 2026) will be held in Porto, Portugal, from March 30 to April 3, 2026. The event is co-organized by the University of Maia and the Institute for Research Development, Training and Advice (IRDTA).

AIces 2026 will cover recent multidisciplinary discussions on AI’s foundations, challenges, and risks across three thematic lines: cognition, ethics, and society. The event will feature 12 courses, 2 keynote lectures, 1 round table, 1 symposium, and 3 open debates.

  • Keynote speakers include Ming Lin (University of Maryland) on ‘Socially Responsible and Trustworthy AI’.
  • Confirmed professors and courses include Ricardo Baeza-Yates (Barcelona Supercomputing Center) on ‘Introduction to Responsible AI’, Thomas Breuel (Nvidia Research) on ‘Facts and Rules in LLMs’, and others.
