Computer Vision Stage Opportunity at Georgia Tech Europe – Amphibian Detection and Recognition

Apply for a Master/Engineer level internship at Georgia Tech Europe’s DREAM laboratory to develop a computer vision system for amphibian detection and recognition in wildlife passages. Starts in 2024.

The DREAM laboratory at Georgia Tech Europe is offering a Master/Engineer level internship on “Amphibian Detection and Recognition using Computer Vision”. This internship is part of a research and development convention between the Isère Department, Cerema (Est and Centre-Est), LPO Isère, and the association Picvert. The goal is to evaluate the functional efficiency of small wildlife passages (PPF or batrachoducs) in Notre-Dame-deL’Osier and Saint-Aupre, and develop a standardized national protocol using time-lapse camera traps and AI.

The intern will use computer vision techniques, such as YOLO, to detect and recognize different amphibians, with a priority on distinguishing between empty images and images containing amphibians, and identifying the species (anoures and urodèles). The internship starts in 2024, apply now!
