The 9th Workshop on Event Extraction and Understanding: Challenges and Applications (EEUCA 2026) will be held at ACL 2026. EEUCA 2026 invites work on automated coding and analysis of events from text sources, including event extraction, event coreference resolution, and event dataset evaluation.

Key topics include:

  • New datasets and training data collection
  • Event-event relations and event schemas
  • Automated tools for event collection
  • Applications of event databases

Two shared tasks are also announced:

  • Multimodal Identification of Vaccine Critical Content on Social Media
  • Understanding Toxic Behavioral Intent in Gaming Chat Logs
