Fully Funded PhD Studentship in Lifelong Robot Learning with Large Language Models at the University of Southampton, UK

The University of Southampton is offering a fully funded PhD studentship to explore the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) in lifelong robot learning. The project aims to develop methods for incrementally learning skill representations jointly from textual descriptions and spatio-temporal information of action sequences. The successful candidate will join the School of Electronics and Computer Science, which is ranked 1st in the UK for Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Applicants must have a strong background in machine learning, and prior knowledge of reinforcement learning, robotics, and training and finetuning LLMs is highly desirable. Funding is available for EU and Horizon Europe Associated Countries, and for exceptional overseas candidates, the fee difference between UK and overseas fees may be covered through other funding schemes.
