HRI 2026 Workshops: Learning from Failure in Human-Robot Interaction

HRI 2026 workshops on March 16 explore failures in human-robot interaction, covering interaction breakdowns and real-world deployment challenges.

Join the HRI 2026 workshops on March 16 to explore ‘things going wrong’ in human-robot interaction. Two complementary workshops will examine failures at different scales, from moment-to-moment breakdowns to complex deployment realities.

  • Morning Workshop (09:30-13:00): ‘Errors, Mistakes, and Failures in Humans and Robots’ – Focuses on failures within individual interactions, covering error types, repair strategies, and design challenges. Workshop Website
  • Afternoon Workshop (14:30-18:00): ‘Failing Forward: Design and Deployment Lessons from Real-World HRI’ – Explores challenges in real-world robot deployments, including technical, human, and environmental factors. Workshop Website

Attending both workshops will provide a comprehensive understanding of how errors shape HRI and lead to more robust robot systems.
