UCLouvain’s Linguistics Research Unit hosts ‘Statistics for linguistics with R’ bootcamp from 06 to 10 July 2026, taught by Stefan Gries. Registration starts 2nd March 2026.

The Linguistics Research Unit at UCLouvain is hosting Stefan Gries’s ‘Statistics for linguistics with R’ bootcamp from 06 to 10 July 2026. This hands-on course covers statistical methods for linguists using R, based on Gries’s textbook.

Key topics include:

• Fixed effects regression modeling for numeric and binary response variables
• Advanced fixed-effects regression modeling techniques
• Mixed-effects regression modeling foundations and applications
• Tree-based methods and random forests
