PhD Position in ML-based Modelling of Stainless Steel at University of Groningen
Fully funded PhD position in ML-based modelling of stainless steel at University of Groningen, Netherlands. Deadline: 15 September 2025.
A fully funded PhD position is available at the University of Groningen, Netherlands, focusing on machine learning-based implementation of constitutive behaviour of stainless steel. The project aims to develop hybrid machine learning material models for simulating industrial processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing model- and data-driven hybrid machine learning material models
- Integrating these models into Finite Element Modelling (FEM)
- Replacing expensive experimental procedures to enhance time and cost efficiency
Candidates should have a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, materials science, computer science, or a related field, along with a strong background in machine learning and material modeling.
