PhD Position in NLP and Literary Text Revision
PhD position available at Marseille Computer Science and Systems Laboratory for a research project on modeling literary writing and revision processes using NLP and machine learning.
The Marseille Computer Science and Systems Laboratory is offering a three-year thesis grant to model literary writing and revision processes. The project involves predicting edit operations on a given text, potentially concerning lexicon, syntax, or textual organization.
The research will be structured around three main directions:
- The nature of the predicted object, which could be a sequence of edit operations or a more complex form like a graph.
- Data collection and production for training revision models, as literary revision data is scarce.
- Evaluation methods to assess the quality and consistency of the revised text.
Candidates should have a strong background in machine learning, particularly deep learning, and knowledge in Natural Language Processing. The application deadline is June 22.
