SemEval-2026: Call for Task Proposals

SemEval-2026 is now accepting task proposals for semantic evaluation tasks, focusing on novel applications and languages other than English. Proposals due by 31 March 2025.

The International Workshop on Semantic Evaluation (SemEval) is now accepting task proposals for SemEval-2026. This ongoing series, organized by SIGLEX, explores the nature of meaning in natural languages through practical evaluations of computational semantics systems.

Proposals should focus on tasks that test automatic systems for semantic analysis, with a special emphasis on languages other than English, cross-lingual tasks, and novel applications. Proposals based on pilot studies with initial data and evaluation measures are strongly encouraged.

Key evaluation criteria include novelty, interest, data quality, sound evaluation methodology, and potential impact on future research. Ethical considerations, such as compliance with privacy policies, are also crucial.

Important Dates:

  • Task proposals due: 31 March 2025
  • Task selection notification: 19 May 2025
