The School of Information (iSchool) at The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) is seeking to hire up to two tenure-track faculty in the area of Building Human-Centered, Ethical, and Responsible AI Systems. The positions will start in Fall 2025, and the application review and initial zoom interviews will begin on November 1, 2024. The last day to apply is December 1, 2024.
Candidates should develop AI systems in their research that advance support for human work or activities, such as by augmenting and amplifying the capabilities of individuals or groups of people. Research directions may include innovative methods and applications that integrate AI with human computation, complementary human-AI teaming and supportive workflow design, and accelerating and improving human-centered AI evaluation protocols, among others.
Potential outcomes of such research may include advancing fundamental understanding of human-AI partnerships, investigating potential productivity benefits, advancing ethical and responsible design, and protecting private and sensitive data, among others.
