The ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig is offering 34 open positions for Research Associates / PhD Students (f/m/x) within its Graduate School. The positions are available in various areas, including Knowledge Representation and Inference, Mathematical Foundations of AI and Representation Learning, Scalable ML and LLM Inference, Time Series Analysis and Reinforcement Learning, Visualization and Causal Inference, and ML and Ethics for Protein Design and Chemical Reactions.
Selected candidates will have the opportunity to work on exciting topics, such as Linear Time Algorithms for Ontology-Mediated Querying, Combining Description Logics with Argumentation Frameworks for Repair, and Manifold Learning over Dynamic Point Clouds. They will also have access to excellent hardware facilities for high-performance computing and scalable AI.
The application deadline is April 09, 2025 (23:59 CEST). Positions’ start dates are between July and December 2025, and the work location is in Germany, Dresden or Leipzig (topic-specific).
Candidates should have an outstanding university degree (typically M. Sc.) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or another relevant field study with good GPA. They should also have very good programming skills and AI/ML knowledge, as well as good written and spoken English skills (CEFR level C1 or higher).
