AI Safety x Physics Grand Challenge Starts Tomorrow
Join the AI Safety x Physics Grand Challenge starting July 25-27. Apply physics methodologies to AI safety problems with expert mentors and resources. Register now!
The AI Safety x Physics Grand Challenge is set to begin tomorrow, July 25-27. Participants can still register for both remote and in-person participation.
The Challenge applies rigorous physics methodologies to critical AI safety problems, including:
- Neural network scaling laws and phase transitions
- Statistical mechanics of AI behavior prediction
- Renormalization group approaches to interpretability
- Uncertainty quantification for rare failure modes
Participants will have access to:
- $400 compute credits per team (Lambda Labs)
- OpenAI API access for LLM experiments
- Expert mentors, including SLT researchers and interpretability experts
- Two tracks: Project implementation and Research exploration
Registration is open for physicists, AI researchers, and those with a quantitative background interested in technical AI safety. Register now.
