ALTA 2024 Shared Task: Automatic AI-Generated Sentences Detection for Human-AI Hybrid Articles

The Australasian Language Technology Association (ALTA) is hosting a programming competition for university students. The competition, called the ALTA 2024 Shared Task, focuses on the detection of AI-generated sentences in human-AI hybrid articles. Participants will compete to solve the same problem, with the goal of advancing research and programming in the area of language technology.

The competition is now open for registration, and the training and development data have been released. The test data will be released on September 30, 2024, and the deadline for submitting runs is October 6, 2024. The results will be announced on October 9, 2024, and participants will have until November 4, 2024 to submit their system descriptions. The presentation of results will take place at the ALTA 2024 conference, which will be held on December 2-4, 2024.
