ArAIEval Shared Task at ArabicNLP 2024: Propagandistic Techniques Detection in Arabic News Articles and Tweets

The ArabicNLP 2024 conference will host the ArAIEval Shared Task, which focuses on the detection of propagandistic textual spans with persuasion techniques identification in Arabic news articles and tweets. The shared task will include two main tasks:

• Task 1: Unimodal (Text) Propagandistic Technique Detection – a sequence tagging task to detect propaganda techniques in text snippets from news paragraphs or tweets.
• Task 2: Multimodal propagandistic memes classification – a classification task to detect whether the content of a meme is propagandistic or not, with three subtasks: 2A) text-based detection, 2B) image-based detection, and 2C) multimodal detection.
