AURORA³ Research Infrastructure and Engineer Job Opportunity

AURORA³ is a new UK National Strategic Infrastructure for acoustic research, supported by EPSRC funding. A Research Engineer is needed to help design and operate the facility.

The University of Surrey has secured EPSRC funding to establish AURORA³, a state-of-the-art acoustic research infrastructure featuring an anechoic chamber and variable acoustics room. This national strategic infrastructure will be accessible to global researchers, supporting advancements in audio, acoustics, and AI.

AURORA³ aims to provide controlled acoustic conditions for data collection, benefiting machine/deep learning research by enabling the creation of high-quality, diverse datasets. The facility will support on-site visits and remote collaborations.

A Research Engineer position is available to help bring AURORA³ to life. The role involves designing, implementing, and operating the infrastructure. The position is initially for two years, with a salary range of £37,174 – £45,413 p.a.
