Call for Papers: The First Workshop on Natural Language Processing for Indo-Aryan and Dravidian Languages (IndoNLP 2025)
The First Workshop on Natural Language Processing for Indo-Aryan and Dravidian Languages (IndoNLP 2025) aims to bridge the gap between the rapid advancement of Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models and the under-resourced Indo-Aryan and Dravidian Languages. The workshop will be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE on January 20th, 2025, and invites the submission of original research papers on various topics related to the processing of Indo-Aryan and Dravidian Languages. The submission deadline is November 5th, 2024.
The First Workshop on Natural Language Processing for Indo-Aryan and Dravidian Languages (IndoNLP 2025) invites the submission of original research papers on various topics related to the processing of Indo-Aryan and Dravidian languages. The workshop will be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE on January 20th, 2025. The submission deadline is November 5th, 2024, and the notification of acceptance will be on November 25th, 2024. The camera-ready paper is due on December 13th, 2024.
The workshop aims to bring together researchers, linguists, and technologists to focus on the unique challenges and opportunities of creating digital corpora, developing speech technologies, and promoting large language models for Indo-Aryan and Dravidian languages. Participants will explore innovative methods for annotating digital corpora and developing speech and language technologies, with the goal of enhancing the performance of NLP applications. The workshop will also provide a platform for sharing best practices, tools, and resources, enhancing digital infrastructure necessary for language preservation.
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Creating and annotating digital corpora for Indo-Aryan and Dravidian languages
- Speech recognition and synthesis for Indo-Aryan and Dravidian languages
- Machine translation and cross-lingual systems for Indo-Aryan and Dravidian languages
- Language identification and dialect detection for Indo-Aryan and Dravidian languages
- Sentiment analysis and opinion mining for Indo-Aryan and Dravidian languages
- Information extraction and text summarization for Indo-Aryan and Dravidian languages
- Low-resource language processing for Indo-Aryan and Dravidian languages
The submission should be in PDF format and should not exceed 8 pages, including references, using the COLING 2025 template. The submission site is https://softconf.com/coling2025/IndoNLP25/. The review process will be double-blind, and the authors should ensure that their names and affiliations are not revealed in the submitted paper.
