Call for Trainers: UniDive Training School on Diversity in NLP
Call for trainers for UniDive training school on diversity in NLP, Yerevan, January 2026. Submit course proposals by June 2, 2025.
UniDive COST Action is seeking trainers for its winter training school in Yerevan, Armenia, organized at the Yerevan State University on January 20-24, 2026. The training school focuses on linguistic diversity and related topics in NLP.
We invite course proposals covering various aspects of diversity, including lexical, syntactic, semantic, typological, cultural, and genre diversity. Proposals should be sent by Monday, June 2, 2025, to Dan Zeman, Verginica Mititelu, and Marie-Catherine de Marneffe.
- Introduction to typology for newcomers (especially from NLP)
- Diversity quantification in NLP
- Diversity and Large Language Models (LLMs)
- LLMs for low-resourced languages
- Enhancing diversity in models and datasets
- Using ‘universalist’ resources for typological research
- LLMs and language creativity vs. wooden language
Proposals should include title, abstract, level, draft schedule, necessary infrastructure, prerequisites, bibliography, and instructor information.
