The Department of Linguistics at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking applicants for two faculty positions in the area of computational linguistics. The positions are open at the Assistant Professor level, with one position also considering applications for the Associate Professor rank. The successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the department’s research programs in syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sounds, psycholinguistics, cognitive science, language documentation, historical linguistics, sign language linguistics, or sociolinguistics. The application deadline is December 1, 2024.

The positions involve research, service, and teaching linguistics courses at all levels. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in linguistics, computer science, cognitive science, or a related field by the time of appointment and have demonstrated a strong research and teaching trajectory. To apply, please submit a letter of application, a statement describing your research program, a statement of teaching interests, evidence of past teaching performance or teaching potential, three letters of recommendation, and three writing samples.
