Computational Socio-Linguistic Internship at Télécom Paris: Exploring Ethics of AI Landscape

Apply for a Master 2 internship at Télécom Paris to conduct research on AI ethics using computational sociology and graph-based natural language processing techniques. The deadline is January 15th, 2025.

Tiphaine Viard and Maria Boritchev from Télécom Paris are offering a 5-6 month Master 2 internship to conduct research on the ethics of AI landscape. The project involves analyzing a corpus of charters and manifestos from different AI actors using graph-based natural language processing and computational sociology approaches. The internship will start from April 1st and will be based in Télécom Paris, Palaiseau, France. The successful applicant will receive a monthly gratification of approximately 600 euros.

The research aims to answer questions such as who are the groups of people writing about AI ethics, what type of vocabulary or semantic constructions do they use, and is there a difference in linguistic usage between different groups. The internship will involve conducting a state-of-the-art exploration of existing techniques, re-implementing identified techniques, and proposing new research questions and approaches.
