Eighth Universal Dependencies Workshop: Call for Papers
Call for papers for the Eighth Universal Dependencies Workshop, part of SyntaxFest 2025, with a focus on cross-linguistically consistent treebank annotation and its applications.
The eighth workshop on Universal Dependencies (UD) will take place as part of SyntaxFest 2025 in Ljubljana, August 26-29. UD is a framework for cross-linguistically consistent treebank annotation that has been applied to over 150 languages.
We invite papers on all topics relevant to UD, including theoretical foundations, linguistic analysis, language typology, treebank annotation, and the use of UD data for evaluating language models.
Priority will be given to papers that adopt a cross-lingual perspective. The workshop features an invited speaker, Miryam de Lhoneux (KU Leuven), and is part of the larger SyntaxFest event, which includes other workshops and a shared task on morphosyntactic parsing.
Important dates include:
- April 15, 2025: Paper submission deadline
- June 2, 2025: Notification of acceptance
- June 16, 2025: Camera-ready version due
- August 26-29, 2025: Conference dates
Submit your papers through the joint SyntaxFest paper submission portal: https://openreview.net/group?id=SyntaxFest/2025. Don’t forget to register for an OpenReview account in advance to avoid last-minute issues.
