ESSLLI 2025: European Summer School in Logic, Language and Information

The European Summer School in Logic, Language and Information (ESSLLI) is a two-week event that offers a wide range of courses and workshops in the fields of Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Linguistics, Logic, Philosophy, and more. The 36th edition of ESSLLI will take place from July 28 to August 8, 2025, at Ruhr University Bochum in Germany. The event is organized by the Association for Logic, Language, and Information (FoLLI) and aims to bring together researchers and students from various disciplines to explore the interface between linguistics, logic, and computation.

ESSLLI 2025 will feature courses and workshops on topics such as Logic and Computation, Computation and Language, and Language and Logic. Proposals for courses and workshops are invited in all areas of Logic, Linguistics, and Computer Science, with a particular emphasis on cross-disciplinary and innovative topics. Each course and workshop will consist of five 90-minute sessions, offered daily (Monday-Friday) in a single week.

The event is run on a voluntary basis, but organizers and instructors have their registration fees waived and are reimbursed for travel and accommodation expenses up to a certain level. ESSLLI can only guarantee reimbursement for at most one course/workshop organizer and cannot guarantee full reimbursement of travel costs for lecturers or organizers from outside of Europe.

To submit a proposal, you will need to have an OpenReview profile. Profiles created with an institutional email are activated automatically, while those created without an institutional email may go through a moderation process that can take up to two weeks to be activated.

Important dates:

  • July 10, 2024: Deadline for submitting course/workshop titles
  • July 24, 2024: Deadline for submitting course/workshop proposals
  • October 15, 2024: Notification sent to course/workshop proposers
