Financial Misinformation Detection Challenge: Leveraging LLMs for Trustworthy Finance
The financial sector faces a critical challenge with the proliferation of misinformation, which can manipulate markets and influence economic sentiment. The Shared Task on Financial Misinformation Detection at FinNLP-FNP-LLMFinLegal, in conjunction with COLING 2025, Abu Dhabi, aims to address this issue by testing the ability of Large Language Models (LLMs) to verify financial misinformation and generate clear explanations for their decisions.
Participants are challenged to develop or adapt LLMs to identify financial claims as ‘True’, ‘False’, or ‘Not Enough Information’ and provide explanations according to the related information, following a designed prompt template.
Key dates for the challenge phase include registration open on 15 August 2024, training set release on 15 September 2024, blind test set release on 30 October 2024, systems submission deadline on 7 November 2024, and results release on 12 November 2024. The paper phase follows, with submissions due on 25 November 2024 and the workshop scheduled for 19-20 January 2025.
