FIRE 2025: Call for Track Proposals – Forum for Information Retrieval Evaluation
FIRE 2025 invites proposals for evaluation tracks in information retrieval, NLP, and ML, with a focus on South Asian, African, and Middle Eastern languages.
The Forum for Information Retrieval Evaluation (FIRE) is inviting proposals for evaluation tracks at its 17th annual meeting, FIRE 2025, to be held at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi from December 17th to 20th.
Proposals should focus on solving specific problems in information access and generating evaluation datasets for the research community. Tracks can cover any problem in the fields related to IR, NLP, multi-modal information access, and ML, with a special emphasis on South Asian, African, and Middle Eastern languages.
Proposals should include the track name, description, use case/s, target audience, data details, evaluation plan, timeline, and organizer details. The deadline for track proposals is April 6th, 2025.

- Track acceptance notification: April 15th, 2025
- Open track websites and release of training data: May 15th, 2025
- Test data release: June 15th, 2025
- Run submission deadline: June 30th, 2025
- Track results declaration: July 15th, 2025
- Working notes due: August 30th, 2025
- Camera-ready copies of working notes and overview paper due: September 30th, 2025
- FIRE Conference: December 17th-20th, 2025
