First Workshop on Natural Language Argument-Based Explanations (ArgNLE) at ECAI 2024
Call for Papers: The First Workshop on Natural Language Argument-Based Explanations (ArgNLE) will take place on October 20th, 2024, in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, co-located with ECAI 2024. The workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from different fields to discuss the challenges and opportunities of providing natural language explanations for AI predictions.
The workshop topics include natural language argument-based explanations, dialectical, dialogical and conversational explanations, AI methods to support argumentative explainability, user-acceptance and evaluation of argumentation-based explanations, tools for argumentation-based explanations, and real-world applications. The workshop welcomes contributions showing an integrated vision of Explainable AI (XAI), combining low level characteristics of the deep learning process with higher level schemas proper of the human argumentation capacity.
Submissions are invited in three categories: original, unpublished contributions, dataset related submissions, and projects related submissions. The workshop will feature an invited talk by Professor Francesca Toni from Imperial College London, UK.
Important dates: paper submission (extended deadline) – June 20, 2024, notification of acceptance – July 10, 2024, camera-ready papers – July 31, 2024, and the ArgNLE workshop – October 20, 2024.
Papers must be written in English, prepared for double-blind review using the ECAI LaTeX template, and not exceed 7 pages (not including references). Submissions should be made via EasyChair.
