FoRC 2025: Field of Research Classification Challenge
Participate in the FoRC 2025 Shared Task on Field of Research Classification of Scholarly Publications, hosted at NSLP 2025 in Portoroz, Slovenia.
The FoRC 2025 Shared Task on Field of Research Classification of Scholarly Publications is now open for participation. Hosted as part of the NSLP 2025 Workshop in Portoroz, Slovenia, this challenge aims to advance the classification of scientific articles into their respective fields of research (FoR).
The task builds on the data from Subtask II of FoRC 2024, adding a weakly supervised dataset of over 40K ACL publications. Participants will design classification systems using FoRC4CL, a corpus of 1500 English scholarly articles in Computational Linguistics (CL) from the ACL Anthology, annotated according to the Taxonomy4CL.
Task Overview:
- Predict the entities from Taxonomy4CL that correspond to the main contributions of an article from the ACL Anthology.
- Evaluation will be based on micro, macro, and weighted precision, recall, and F1-score.
Important Dates:
- Training and testing data release: February 18, 2025
- System submissions deadline: March 25, 2025
- Paper submissions: March 27, 2025
- Notification of acceptance: April 10, 2025
- Camera-ready submission: April 17, 2025
Junior researchers and students from diverse backgrounds are especially encouraged to participate. For more details, visit the FoRC Shared Task page and the Codabench page.
