A PhD studentship is available at the University of Southampton to develop a sustainable lifelong on-device robot learning system. The project, ‘Skill Acquisition in Lifelong Robot Learning with Large Language Models,’ aims to improve the trade-off between stability and plasticity in robot learning while enhancing resource efficiency.

  • Project Focus: Continual on-device robot learning for resource-constrained robotic platforms.
  • Funding: Available for UK, EU, and Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
  • Entry Requirements: A good undergraduate degree (at least a UK 2:1 honours degree) and IELTS 6.5 for non-native English speakers.
