The University of Southampton is seeking a PhD student to develop a sustainable, lifelong on-device robot learning system. The project, titled ‘Resource-efficient lifelong robot learning,’ aims to improve the trade-off between stability and plasticity in robot learning while enhancing resource efficiency.
- Address the challenge of catastrophic forgetting in lifelong learning robots.
- Develop a system for deployment on resource-constrained robotic platforms.
- Contribute to sustainability by reducing carbon emissions through improved operational efficiency.
