Project Description

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are a major global health concern, and electrocardiograms (ECGs) have significant diagnostic potential. However, their underutilization and the average interpretation accuracy of physicians being just 54% highlight the need for improvement. This PhD project aims to address these challenges using Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence (HCAI).

Funding Details

This EPSRC-funded project offers a full tuition fee waiver for UK and overseas students, a UKRI stipend of £19,237 per annum for 3.5 years, and a £4500 Research Training Support Grant (RTSG) for research enhancement.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates should be self-motivated, have a good first degree in a relevant field, experiences with AI for healthcare projects, strong programming skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong problem-solving abilities. If English is not your first language, you must have an IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with no less than 6.0 in each component.
