The Group of Computational Pathology at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany, is inviting applications for a fully-funded PhD position in ‘Deep learning for biomedical image analysis’ starting on 1st April 2025.
Main tasks:
- Design and application of cutting-edge computer vision algorithms (e.g., CNNs, Vision Transformers, Foundation Models, Explainable AI) for the automatic classification and segmentation of microscopy data.
- Prediction of disease progression in collaboration with clinical researchers.
Your profile:
- Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or related fields.
- Solid understanding of deep learning and relevant frameworks (e.g., Pytorch, Tensorflow, Keras, scikit-learn, scikit-image, OpenCV).
- Good communication skills and experience in interdisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in Python and Linux environments.
- Fluency in English.
