Join the Data & Knowledge Engineering group at Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf and collaborate with GESIS, Cologne on the DFG-funded research project ‘EmergentIR: Improving Informational Web Search for Emerging Topics’.
As a PhD candidate, you will research web search behavior and algorithms in the context of emerging topics, such as predicting search intents, detecting emerging topics, and supporting ranking and retrieval of information.
- Research in information retrieval, information extraction/NLP, and human-computer interaction
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of researchers to develop and evaluate computational methods
- Publish and present research results at major scientific events
