The Medical University of Vienna is offering six fully-funded PhD studentships in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). Successful candidates will have the opportunity to develop and lead their own research projects in AI/ML at the interface with biomedical and technical-related research. Located in the heart of Vienna, the university is a hub for research in the technical and life sciences, with a particular focus on the medical sciences. We invite applicants with strong programming skills and a background in AI, computer science, biomedical engineering, physics or related fields to apply.
Potential PhD projects include developing a unified computational model of single-neuron activity across multiple brain regions, advancing AI models for neuroprosthetics, machine learning for retinal image analysis and disease progression modeling, and autonomous radiotherapy planning, among others.
