The Department of Information, Risk, and Operations Management (IROM) at the University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business invites applications for a fully-funded Ph.D. position in Use-Inspired AI. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to pursue a broad research agenda on developing AI/ML methodologies to address challenges arising in a particular real-world context. The IROM department has a strong community of faculty and students working on machine learning, and the university-wide initiatives in AI/ML span multiple departments, including Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Statistics & Data Science, Linguistics, Psychology, and the Institute for Foundations of Machine Learning.
