ICPR 2024: 2nd Workshop on Fairness in Biometric Systems – Call for Papers
The International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR) 2024 has announced the 2nd Workshop on Fairness in Biometric Systems. The workshop aims to address the growing concerns of equability and non-discrimination in biometric systems, which have become increasingly prevalent in critical decision-making processes such as finance, public security, and forensics. The recognition performance of such systems can be significantly impacted by demographic and non-demographic attributes of users, leading to discriminatory and unfair treatment.
The workshop will focus on developing and analyzing biometric datasets, proposing metrics related to equability, investigating and mitigating equability concerns in biometric algorithms, and exploring demographic and non-demographic factors in biometric systems. The deadline for full paper submission has been extended to September 1, 2024.
Important Dates:
- Workshop: December 01, 2024
- Full Paper Submission: September 1, 2024
- Acceptance Notice: September 20, 2024
- Camera-Ready Paper: September 24, 2024
