Polymathic AI is expanding and looking for talented Research Software Engineers to join their team in NYC, Cambridge UK, and remote locations. Polymathic AI is a leading company in the field of AI for Science, and this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of generalist foundation models for science.

As a Research Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and training large AI models, curating relevant datasets, engaging in foundation models for science research, and maintaining and supporting software relevant to the initiative. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other research scientists, research software engineers, postdocs, research analysts, and the team in general.

To be considered for the role, you should have at least three years of software development experience in a research setting, expertise in developing and training AI models, proficiency in Python and either PyTorch, JAX, or Tensorflow, and knowledge of software engineering practices for working in groups. Related skills and other requirements include the ability to collaborate on multidisciplinary research in a collegial environment, lead, develop and contribute to software projects, effective communication, documentation, and user-support skills, and professional communication skills.
