Join the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence as a Junior or Senior Researcher in Data Science and its Applications
The German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) is seeking enthusiastic junior and senior researchers to join their Data Science and its Applications department, based in Kaiserslautern or Berlin. Candidates should have a quantitative background in fields such as statistics, machine learning, bioinformatics, computer science, or data science. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to contribute to exciting projects in medical research, epidemiology, and reproducible science for social good.
DFKI is committed to providing a good working culture and is currently accepting applications for the following research projects:
- Timely models for individual and societal health: The "Eventful" project is developing new methods for effective modelling of spatio-temporal processes, with applications in crisis prediction and prevention and geopolitics. Researchers will help build standardised frameworks for preparation and evaluation of models for longitudinal survey data, patient trajectories, and socio-political processes in noisy or high-dimensional settings.
- Reducing patient burden and research cost: The AI4Nof1 project leverages cutting edge developments in (causal, neurosymbolic) reinforcement learning, psychometrics, and digital epidemiology to build adaptive personalised treatment regimes for chronic conditions. Researchers will simultaneously identify phenotypes and causal pathways while minimising the time and number of measurements needed for patients to find a treatment that is right for them.
- Trustworthy AI applications in health and wellbeing: The TrustifAI project aims to improve trustworthiness of AI applications in health and wellbeing at various stages of development lifecycle. Researchers will contribute to a set of concrete solutions to improve trustworthiness of AI applications in health and wellbeing.
DFKI offers competitive salaries for the German research landscape and is well regarded as an employer. In particular, in their department they focus on providing a great working environment for their diverse team. To apply, visit https://jobs.dfki.de/en/vacancy/data-science-researcher-554367.html.
