The University of Edinburgh’s School of Informatics is seeking a permanent academic member for a position in Embodied Natural Language Processing (NLP). The successful candidate will conduct research at the intersection of NLP and Robotics/Autonomous agents, focusing on applying NLP methods to aid robot decision-making, improving AI systems’ integration with human users, enhancing the understanding of other input modalities such as vision, and enabling explainability of robot actions. The position requires a PhD or equivalent and experience as an established researcher in NLP or a related field. Experience working with embodied or autonomous systems is desirable.
