Language + Molecules @ ACL 2024 Workshop: Join us in Bangkok, Thailand on August 15, 2024

The Language + Molecules @ ACL 2024 Workshop is a one-day event taking place on August 15, 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand as part of the 62nd Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL 2024). This workshop aims to bring together researchers from the fields of natural language processing, chemistry, and materials science to explore the integration of molecules and natural language. The workshop will feature oral and poster presentations, as well as a shared task focused on abstraction, functionality, and composition of molecules.

The workshop will cover a wide range of topics, including:

• Going beyond language to incorporate molecular structure and interactions into large language models (LLMs).
• Addressing data scarcity and inconsistency by developing new training methodologies and methods for extracting data from scientific literature.
• Language-enabled solutions for discovering new drugs and molecules.
• Incorporating domain knowledge from human-constructed databases into LLMs.
• Instruction-following, dialogue-capable, and tool-equipped LLMs for molecules.
• Sequence representations for molecular structures, including organic molecules, proteins, DNA, and inorganic crystals.

The workshop will also feature a shared task focused on abstraction, functionality, and composition of molecules. Participants in the shared task will be encouraged to submit papers detailing their methods and results.
