Lancaster University seeks Lecturers and Senior Lecturers in Mathematical AI and Applied Mathematics to join MARS, with a focus on using applied mathematics and AI methods to address real-world challenges.
The School of Mathematical Sciences at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint Lecturers and Senior Lecturers in Mathematical AI and Lecturers and Senior Lecturers in Applied Mathematics to join MARS: Mathematics for AI in Real-world Systems.
MARS conducts research and teaching at the interface of dynamical mathematical modelling and artificial intelligence (AI), with a focus on using applied mathematics and AI methods to address real-world challenges.
Successful candidates will have a PhD and an outstanding track record in applied mathematics, or in fundamental Machine Learning (ML) research with evidence of using ML and AI methods to solve challenging problems.
Ideally, candidates will have an application focus in at least one of the following MARS key application areas:
- cyber security
- engineering
- environment
- health
These are full-time, indefinite positions. Closing dates: 23rd April 2025 (Mathematical AI); 30th April 2025 (Applied Mathematics).
