Master-Level Course on Machine Learning @ U of Copenhagen – Sep-Oct 2024

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH) is offering a 7.5 ECTS master-level course, “Machine Learning A”, which introduces basic theory and algorithms of machine learning. The course runs in Sep-Oct 2024 and is a hybrid course, allowing for remote participation via Zoom. Students from other universities and industries are welcome to apply.

The course assumes knowledge of linear algebra, calculus, probability theory, and basic programming skills. Topics covered include probability theory, K-Nearest Neighbors algorithm, Perceptron, Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Regularization, Markov’s and Hoeffding’s inequalities, Generalization bounds, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Neural Networks, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Clustering, and Non-linear Dimensionality Reduction.
