NARNiHS 2025 Annual Meeting: Abstract Submission Deadline Extension

Attention all historical sociolinguists and scholars from related fields! The North American Research Network in Historical Sociolinguistics (NARNiHS) has announced a deadline extension for the submission of abstracts to its Seventh Annual Meeting, NARNiHS 2025. The new deadline is Friday, 30 August 2024, 11:59 PM US Eastern Time.

The NARNiHS 2025 Annual Meeting will be held in person and co-located with the Linguistic Society of America (LSA) Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, from 9-12 January 2025. The meeting welcomes abstracts in all areas of historical sociolinguistics, which is understood as the application/development of sociolinguistic theories, models, and methods for the study of historical language variation and change over time.

Abstracts will be evaluated based on their explicit discussion of theoretical frameworks, methodological protocols, and analytical strategies; sufficient presentation of data sources and examples; and clear articulation of how the research advances knowledge in the field of historical sociolinguistics.
