NARNiHS 2025 Annual Meeting: Call for Abstracts
The North American Research Network in Historical Sociolinguistics (NARNiHS) is inviting abstract submissions for its Seventh Annual Meeting, NARNiHS 2025, taking place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA from 9-12 January 2025. The meeting will be held in person and co-located with the Linguistic Society of America (LSA) Annual Meeting. The deadline for abstract submissions is 16 August 2024, 11:59 PM US Eastern Time.
NARNiHS welcomes abstracts in all areas of historical sociolinguistics, which is the application/development of sociolinguistic theories, models, and methods for the study of historical language variation and change over time. Abstracts will be accepted for both 20-minute papers and posters, and will be evaluated based on explicit discussion of theoretical frameworks, sufficient presentation of data sources and examples, and clear articulation of how the research advances knowledge in the field of historical sociolinguistics. Abstracts should be anonymized for blind peer review.
