New Open Access NAO Code Release for HRI Applications
Introducing Open Access NAO (OAN), a ROS2-based software framework for human-robot interaction applications with the NAO robot. The code is now available for open access on Github at https://github.com/antbono/OAN.
The OAN framework is independent of the manufacturer’s APIs and offers several advanced features such as speech recognition/synthesis via Google Cloud Platform, face and object recognition via YOLOv8, and use of Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) model for conversation thanks to ChatGPT. The code is highly expandable and improvable, making it a valuable tool for the ROS community.
