Location: ETH Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland
Duration: 2 years with a potential extension to a doctoral position
Start Date: July 2024 or shortly thereafter
Summary: We are seeking a PostDoc and a Research Engineer to join our team at ETH Zurich and contribute to the field of generative design for exoskeletons and orthoses. The focus is on developing novel methods for the autonomous design of 3D shapes tailored to fit the user’s body and optimizing the design for desired assistance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of researchers and engineers in developing new methods in the digital design of lower-limb aids (PostDoc only).
- Develop novel methods for the autonomous design of 3D shapes tailored to fit the user’s body and optimizing the design for desired assistance.
- Research on simulation methods for walking with aids.
- Leverage advanced 3D shape construction through generative design to improve the structure and biomechanical compatibility of walking aids with user morphology (Research Engineer only).
- Develop software solutions that integrate expert knowledge into the design and fabrication processes (Research Engineer only).
