PhD Position in AI for Simulated Helicopter Control Adjustment
PhD position in AI for simulated helicopter control adjustment using reinforcement learning techniques.
Airbus Helicopters and ONERA are offering a PhD position in AI, funded through a CIFRE agreement, to investigate the use of reinforcement learning techniques to adapt control positions for simulated helicopter control adjustment.
The goal of this PhD is to develop an online correction mechanism that can replicate in simulation the reactions observed during real flight tests, comparing its performance with state-of-the-art methods, and improving the simulation quality relative to established baselines on control adjustment.
Applicants should have an engineering degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, expertise in artificial intelligence, simulation, modeling, sequential decision-making, and machine learning (particularly reinforcement learning).
Applications should be sent to Filipo Studzinski Perotto (filipo.perotto(at)onera.fr) and Gauthier Picard (gauthier.picard(at)onera.fr) with the subject ‘Application TIS-DTIS-2024-14 – RL for Helicopter Control Simulation’.
Email Filipo Studzinski Perotto and Gauthier Picard for more information.
