Saarland University in Germany is offering a PhD position in Language Modeling and Machine Learning. The research group is focusing on getting a deeper understanding of how language models work and how they can be applied. The ideal candidate for the position would have excellent knowledge of language models, machine learning, and deep learning, as well as excellent programming skills and successful experiences working both independently and as part of a small team. The salary for the position is 75% of full time on the German E13 scale (TV-L) which is about 3292€ per month before tax and social security contributions. The appointment will be for three years with a possible extension at 50% for a fourth year.
